The Daily Local News quotes Terrance Farrell, Republican Chair of the Chester County Commissioners: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

      --is it true that,“…it ain’t broke…?”

Do uncontrolled design corrections and construction cost overruns and for the new District Justice Building belong to a government that “ain’t broke?”  Do taxes that rise while services are cut, leaving philanthropic county residents to fill the gap, belong to a government that “ain’t broke?”   Does a county pension plan with an over $67 million shortfall, which must be funded by taxpayers, belong to a government that “ain’t broke?”  Does a Retirement Board which contracts for different investment managers to run the funds, twice in the same year, belong to a government that “ain’t broke?”  Does an intentionally inadequate polling place, in a predominantly Democratic precinct, which forces voters to stand in the cold November rain along a busy road for over two hours for the privilege of casting their ballots, belong to a government that “ain’t broke?”

Republican Commissioner Aichele claims credit on behalf of her political party for the county AAA bond rating.  According to her, AAA has nothing to do with you -- the successful businesses and hardworking taxpayers that provide the county with one of the most secure tax bases in the country.  Commissioner Aichele would have you cast your votes in gratitude, to the Republican party for the county’s excellent credit, rather than the Republican party showing its gratitude to you the taxpayers -- and committing to serving you better.
