Kipp Stone, Democratic Candidate for Chester County Treasurer spent her career working in business, and the not-for-profit sector, and higher education.  You could call her a citizen candidate
.

Her 29 years in banking and large corporations were spent managing people, technology, budgets, and investments.  She also worked for 5 years in government and public higher education, and has a working knowledge of fund accounting, strategic planning and public policy.

She is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and a Certified Financial Planner.  She is also a Certified Trust Specialist with personal experience managing multimillion dollar pension funds, which she will bring to her Chester County Pension Board duties.

During her banking career in Philadelphia, Kipp worked her way up to Vice President, managing a specialized regional group and the investment of client accounts on behalf of the bank. At the same time, she served thirteen years on the Board of a Chester County charitable organization serving children, and eleven years as Board Treasurer.  She is currently an active volunteer in various
Chester County charities, especially supporting education and the Chester County environment.

She retired early the first time to care for her gravely ill husband.  After his death, with her step-children grown, she returned to work as an Investment Manager with an international mutual fund.  Upon retiring a second time, she and her son started a restaurant where she serves as President and he as Manager, and she subsequently started a second business providing financial reporting and bookkeeping services for small businesses, specializing in not-for-profit organizations.

“I found retirement boring,” she admits.  “I love challenge, and being of service on many levels.  I am not looking for a second career in politics.  I am looking to serve my fellow residents of Chester County, to do what I do best – where I can serve best -- to make my community a better place for my children and grandchildren to live.”
